Q: Are any WAN configuration examples between IOS routers, and between IOS and HP routers, available?
The following examples are available:

Q: What is the latest IOS version available for the HP Advancestack Internet Router (HP J3138A)?
Version 11.3(6) is the latest version. Click here to download the software.

This version contains a security bug fix. The security bug made it possible for untrusted, unauthenticated users who can gain access to the login prompt of the router, via any means, to obtain fragments of text entered by prior interactive users of the router. Complete information on this bug fix is available at the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/770/ioshist-pub.shtml

Q: How do I configure the router for Novell Packet Burst (PBURST.NLM)?
The routers are not configured for PBURST. Packet Burst is a function of the Novell server and client configurations. In the Novell IPX Router Spec it says, "No special handling on the part of a router is required for Burst Mode to function properly."

Q: After rebooting or power cycling the Switch208/224 with the IOS Router module installed I see an Expansion Slot error message; what does this mean?
This is normal behaviour with the Current Firmware (all firmware up to version A.01.22). This message occurs because the Internet (IOS) router takes longer to come up than the Current firmware expects. So one error message is issued as the Switch and the router are coming up, then when the Switch checks the router a second time, the Internet router is fully up and everything is fine.

Below is a sample error message:

W 12/31/90 16:00:01 system: Expansion Slot: failure, Failures: 1

Here is the message that is issued after the IOS Router has come up fully:

W 12/31/90 16:00:02 system: Expansion Slot: OK, Failures: 1

This is a typical boot up sequence in the event log:
